Pandora Taylor – Belgravia Apartment

Pandora Taylor, one of Country & Townhouse magazine’s Top 50 Interior Designers, specialises in high-end residential interiors, working across London and beyond. Pandora’s background in art and art history has encouraged her use of bold materials and unusual, striking pieces, whilst creating homes that not only look beautiful but enrich the everyday lives of her clients. We spoke to Pandora about a recent Belgravia apartment project…

The House:
The apartment occupies the top two floors of a classic terraced building in Belgravia built in the 1840s, with fantastic views over the city. This was a first time property with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a great open plan living space.

The Inspiration:
Since lockdown, our homes have become so much more to us than just places we sleep, so the aim was to create a flexible space for both work and play. My client wanted the home to be elegant and calming but with fun elements and an interesting use of colour. They wanted the overall vibe to be a balance between a sophisticated London townhouse and traditional English interiors. So a mixture of sleek materials and more organic, decorative textiles.

The Inspiration:
We completely re-designed the two bathrooms and it was important that these spaces were functional but also a little bit fun. The master bathroom is awash with a sophisticated plaster pink with the stand out feature being the marble vanity whilst the guest bathroom is fresh and bright. It is always important to enhance the existing architecture so we placed the open shelves in the living room on an angle to reflect the angled ceiling.
